When was it decided that endurance sports had to involve driving three or more hours to race around farmland or suburbs?
Who says that we have to spend time and money going to the events by ourselves, because our friends and family don’t want to make the trek?
Why is it that after the awards ceremony, everybody takes off?
We don’t have the answers either. Which is why we created the Urban Epic brand. There is no reason why we can’t accomplish our goals closer to our homes, and be able to celebrate with our loved ones. What makes racing so enjoyable is the camaraderie and sense of community that we experience with those around us. Urban Epic gives you the chance that be in that environment without driving all day.
Urban Epic events are each unique, built to showcase the particular land/cityscapes of each venue. In one case, this might be a triathlon; in another case, an obstacle challenge. The common link is that they are all easily accessible, spectator-friendly, and built to maximize FUN! The courses are world-class, the logistics are turn-key, and the racing is fantastic. At the finish, there are beer gardens, great food, music, vendors, and more. We strive to create a totally unique event atmosphere. We want you walking away thinking, “Wow, that was awesome!”
Guiding the Urban Epic Brand is our mantra – “Be Epic.” We do our best to apply this attitude to everything we do. So while other races offer nice shoulders for riding, we shut down the road. Instead of oranges and peanut butter after the race, we offer fresh burritos and subs. And in place of a traditional finisher medal, we give custom shades that all your friends will want. We find the best venues, the best sponsors, and the best race concepts to bring to you. We deliver locations that no one else can.
We like to think of Urban Epic as the sophisticated alternative to the cookie-cutter races that are popping up everywhere. Whether its hammering down Day Blvd in Boston, or scrambling up the rocks in Portland, we are confident that you will agree!
