Initiatives in Boston

Thanks to our Green Partners Stonyfield and Athletes For a Fit Planet, the Urban Epic Boston Triathlon was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Races on Earth” by Triathlete Magazine (March 2010)

  1. 100% online registration to save paper
  2. Utilizing Zipcars for staff vehicles
  3. Providing goodie bags from City Sports that are reusable
  4. Making recycling and composting available at the race
  5. Providing organic and local foods from groups like Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Stonyfield and others.
  6. Printing all race materials on post-consumer recycled paper
  7. Giving out race water bottles made from recycled materials
  8. Giving out finisher “awards” made from recycled materials
  9. Providing Green portable toilets that use earth friendly non-toxic chemicals provided by Dave’s Eco-Friendly Toliets

Look for the Stonyfield Recycling signs at the start and finish area where we are recycling and composting plus we’ll be recycling and composting all along the course.
